Book Review: Annie Leibovitz at Work
My recent fascination with portrait photography has pushed me to study pro portrait photographers: how they took their pictures, what the process is, what different styles are out there.
Contrary to what the title may suggest, Annie Leibovitz at Work is not a book on how her photographs were taken. It is an honest, open look at what she was thinking when some of her most famous photos were taken, what she felt, and what it meant to her.
While not technically instructive, the book does reinforce my idea / ideal that photography should be able passion.
Capturing “the moment” should always be more important than having the right f-stop and shutter-speed.
